Home Worcestershire Cricket News Natwest OSCAs 2017 nominations now open

The nomination process for this year’s Bill Jones Memorial Volunteer of the Year Award/Natwest OSCAs 2017 sponsored by Hawk is now open.

Worcestershire Cricket launched the award in memory of one of recreational cricket’s most loyal and hardworking volunteers – Mr Bill (W.F.) Jones. The award offers an ideal opportunity for your club/organisation to recognise hard working volunteers who you feel have ‘made a difference’ either during the year or over time.

There are seven different categories you can choose from to nominate, and to support the ‘Get the Game on’ campaign some of the categories and criteria have changed.  This is to ensure we are congratulating and rewarding those who have played their part in the 2017 season.  Nominations are not limited to one individual/group per category.

The categories are Heartbeat of the Club, Get The Game On, Leagues, Lifetime Achiever, Natwest CricketForce, Officiating - Umpires and Scorers and Young Volunteer.

The completed nomination forms should be sent to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. before the deadline which is Friday 30th June.

We welcome nominations for volunteers from the traditional cricketing environments (Clubs, League and Boards) but in addition to this, we would like to recognise volunteers from emerging environments such as Higher and Further Education, Community Programmes, Workplaces and Recreational Park Leagues.

Following the cut-off date for nominations, Friday 30th June, a panel will sit to select the winners in each category.  All nominated individuals will be invited to an awards lunch on Monday 7th August held at Worcestershire County Cricket Club.

Furthermore, the ‘in County’ award is being linked to the ECB National Outstanding Services to Cricket Awards (OSCA’s).  All winners in each of the ‘in County’ categories will be invited to attend the ECB Outstanding Service to Cricket Awards luncheon at Lord’s Cricket Ground on Monday 9th October.  A fantastic experience with a tour of the ground included.

Nomination forms and OSCAs criteria are attached below.

Nominate today and reward the unsung heroes that make a difference to our beautiful game!
